As the only company in San Diego that performs fully staged operas during the summer months Opera Neo fills an important niche in the citys cultural landscape. We present live opera performances in intimate venues offer innovative interpretations of the works performed and feature young emerging artists and unique programming.

Each year Opera Neo holds highly competitive national auditions that draws over 500 applicants including singers pianists conductors stage managers and stage directors. Anywhere from 20-35 young artists are selected to come to San Diego for intensive professional training mentoring and performance opportunities.
