Regional Food Initiative

Iowa valley's overarching initiative to improve local and regional food system connections and opportunities. The iowa valley RC&D has contracts with usda to develop farm to school programs, provide food safety resources to area farmers, and social media coaching to farmers market vendors and managers.

Scenic Byway

Building and promoting the iowa valley scenic byway and lincoln highway. Iowa valley RC&D has a contract with idot to implement the iowa valley scenic byway interpretive master plan and iowa valley scenic byway corridor master plan along the 77-MILE designated route and within the area designated as byway corridor.

Johnson County Historic Poor Farm

This program utilizes 160 acres of farmland in city limits to house several farm programs including a land access program, charitable food production areas, and garden education. More than 30,000 pounds of produce grown and distributed to several hunger relief agencies in johnson county.
