Education

Initiatives include the bluebell festival, with multiple displays and demonstrations on conservation and environmental issues, as well as tours of trails and wildlife gardens. Approximately 1,200 visitors attend the festival. Also, included in education initiatives are the garden party and natural area tours.

Stewardship

The organization maintains a wildlife garden and conducts wildlife surveys. Additionally, in FY23, pwca entered into an agreement with the federal government through the department of the navy, naval facilities engineering systems command washington for the permanent conservation of merrimac farm.

Advocacy

At the merrimac farm wma wildlife garden, volunteers plant and maintain a wildlife garden demonstration area which serves approximately 2,000 visitors per year. Other advocacy efforts include the promotion of conservation friendly public policies and smart growth initiatives.
