To provide for the advancement of scientific and engineering knowledge through Education, leadership training grants, grants to enable k-12 teachers to bring Materials into classrooms, grants to Asm student chapters, and annual recognition awards to high school teachers. The signature program is Asm Materials camp. This educational outreach program has served over 2,000 high school students and almost 1,000 high school science teachers. The program typically involves 40+ hours of lab-based,hands-on instruction, scheduled over 5 days. Both residential andnon-residential formats are offered. All programs are provided as apublic service at no cost to the participant.
