In fy 22, 826DC served 1,895 students through its literacy-focused programs, each designed to cultivate writing skills and provide publication opportunities for DC students. Our core programs include the young authors' book project, field trips, in-school programs, after-school writing lab, workshops, and reading all stars.

A small component of 826DC'S work is our lowercase series, a monthly open mic night for the DC literary community. 826DC staff uses this public-facing event as an opportunity to recruit new program volunteers, share our students' works with the broader public, and disseminate information about book releases and programming events.
