Prevocational services assist individuals with disabilities to learn job skills needed for employment outside the sheltered environment, thus increasing their independence and intergration into the community. Referrals and funding are originated by the respective mental health intellectual disability administrative entities.

Supported Employment Is Comprised of Three Components

Employer outreach, resume preparation, and job searching. Job support consists of training individuals in job assignments, periodic follow-up, and ongoing support with the individual with the disability and the employer.
