Wendy park is operating to develop a plan to restore the natural environment at wendy park to national park standards of excellence, facilitate the restoration of the historic coast guard station, integrate whiskey island marina into wendy park and to provide public access to lake erie through connecting wendy park to the towpath trail.
Wendy park foundation operates equipment that was donated to the foundation for cuyahoga county. The operating of the equipment for cuyahoga county is to ensure visitors of whiskey island and wendy park are able to enter and depart from the marina safely.
The foundation is supporting the cleveland metroparks by constructing the wendy park bridge which connects the cleveland foundation centennial trail lake link to wendy park on whiskey island and lake erie. The project was completed in june 2021.
