Miguel Angel Rodriguez is the Co-Executive Director and Executive Artistic Director of the Albany Park Theater Project (APTP), where he creates original, ensemble-devised theater rooted in the lived experiences of immigrant, working-class, and first-generation communities. He joined APTP as Co-Executive Director in September 2021, having previously been a teen ensemble member from 1999 to 2003 and a board member.
An artist, director, comedian, and educator, his career includes over a decade in education as a teacher in the South Bronx and an assistant principal in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood, where he founded school-based theater programs. Rodriguez is a 2021 Chicago Surge Fellow and has received the Harriett Ball Excellence in Teaching Award.
He holds a BA from Pomona College and an MA from Pace University.
