Juan de Pablo is a materials scientist who joined the University of Chicago in 2012 as one of the inaugural faculty members of the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. He served as Vice President for National Laboratories and later as Executive Vice President for Science, Innovation, National Laboratories and Global Initiatives.
His research focuses on polymers, biological macromolecules, and liquid crystals using molecular simulation. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2022 and the National Academy of Engineering in 2016.
