Lorraine (Laurie) Bernotsky served as SECRETARY and TREASURER for the CHESTER COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION from 2021–2024. She is also the Vice-Chair of the Chester County Economic Development Council Board of Directors.
A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Bernotsky began her career at West Chester University (WCU) in 1996 as a political science faculty member, progressing to roles including associate provost, dean of graduate studies, provost, and executive vice president.
She was unanimously named the 16th president of West Chester University, effective July 1, 2024, after serving as interim president of Pennsylvania Western University. She founded WCU's Center for Social and Economic Policy Research and leads the largest R2 institution within Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education.
