Børge Brende is a Norwegian politician and diplomat who served as President and CEO of the World Economic Forum from 2017 until his resignation on 26 February 2026. He previously held senior ministerial positions in the Norwegian government, including Minister of Foreign Affairs (2013–2017), Minister of the Environment (2001–2004), and Minister of Trade and Industry (2004–2005).
Brende was Secretary General of Red Cross Norway (2009–2011) and Chairman of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (2003–2004).
