Job Description

Position Summary: Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas. Maintain all areas of the facility in as clean and orderly as possible, using safe work practices and correct body mechanics in accordance to established procedures as well as state regulations. A secondary, but very important aspect of this position is to treat all members of the Orchard Cove community with respect and caring at all times.

Core Competencies: Follows all policies, procedures and culture set forth by the organization Able to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision/assistance after the training period is completed Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, equipment and tools Capable of finishing the daily schedule in the time allotted Demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness Acts in a manner outside the traditional “role” as needed in order to meet residents’/patients’ needs Excellent professional customer service and communication skills and the ability to listen and follow oral instructions Maintain confidentiality and privacy of the residents Contributes to the development of a culture of caring Shows flexibility to meet the needs of the residents and staff Displays integrity, honesty and good work ethics Pays attention to own and others safety while using equipment and supplies Position Responsibilities: Residential Rooms Clean member apartments according to written assignments Stay in assigned areas and assist other associates as necessary or directed Conducting “flipper check” W ash, dust, polish, vacuum and sweep all areas of the apartment C lean sinks, tubs, showers and toilets according to prescribed sanitary standards C lean mirrors and windows Sort and wash laundry using machines Empty and clean trash cans Common Areas Clean common areas according to written assignments C lean mirrors, sinks and toilets in common area restrooms according to prescribed sanitary standards Remove debris/trash from the front of the building, driveways, and all common areas inside or out Position Responsibilities (cont.): W ash, dust, polish, vacuum and sweep all areas of the lobby and commons area including the Front Desk and elevators Empties ashtrays and urns Periodically check and restock all supplies including toilet paper, soap and hand towels in common area restrooms Arrange all cushions properly on lobby sofa Both Clean assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures Observe and report any maintenance issues Listen and respond to resident, guest and staff requests and inquiries Stock and clean storage area for equipment and supplies Maintain all equipment used in performing duties Following safety and infection control procedures Perform other housekeeping related tasks as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma One to two years housekeeping experience preferred Command of English strongly preferred Knowledge…
