Rotating - 10 Hour (United States of America) Why Join Us: • Highly competitive, recently adjusted compensation • Fair call pay for standby and active coverage, with a 1-hour response time • $20,000.00 Sign-On Bonus - contact us for additional information • N+1 staffing model • Four-tiered career ladder recognizing clinical skill, leadership, and hospital involvement • Opportunities to participate in research led by our cardiothoracic surgeons, including lab-based studies • Extensive departmental orientation • Comprehensive services within cardiothoracic surgery, including ECMO and VAD support Perfusionists at Stanford are exposed to a level of case acuity and complexity rarely found in a single program.

Our aortic program originated the Stanford classification for aortic dissections, and our perfusionists regularly support complex aortic repairs, including frequent cases involving Loeys-Dietz and Marfan syndrome patients. We also run a high-volume heart and lung transplant program — in 2022, our surgical team pioneered the beating heart transplant technique, a first-of-its-kind approach now being adopted by programs nationwide. Beyond this, our perfusionists support adult congenital cardiac surgery, pulmonary thromboendarterectomies, ECMO, VAD implantation, and essentially every form of cardiac surgical procedure performed today.

What distinguishes Stanford is our investment in sustainable practice and professional growth. Our N+1 staffing model ensures you're never the sole line of coverage, and our call pay structure fairly compensates both availability and active work. We offer a four-tiered career ladder with a clear path from trainee to veteran, along with the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research in our surgeon-run labs - a distinction of working within an academic medical center. New team members begin on 10-hour shifts before transitioning to 12-hour shifts with a rotating on-call schedule, supported by a collaborative, expert team from day one. This is a Stanford Health Care job.
