About the role

The org's own posting, as written

Shriners International is a fraternity based on fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. The possibilities for having fun as a Shriner are endless. Our local Shrine Centers (chapters) around the world have thousands of activity-based clubs, units and events that provide ways for members to connect with each other in a fun environment. A unique aspect of our local chapters is that creativity is encouraged, and if a club for a particular activity doesn’t exist, members are empowered to create one.

The Chief Membership Development Officer is responsible for the strategy (planning, development, implementation and evaluation) for enterprise-wide systems, processes, and projects to achieve fraternal growth through the coordination and activation of staff, volunteers, strategic partners, and resources as available within three organizations, Shriners International, Shriners International Education Foundation, and Shriners Hospital for Children.

The Officer will design and lead a comprehensive international membership strategy, which includes managing and deploying technology solutions, marketing and communications, component relations, project management, education, governance, and accounting to increase the quality and quantity of members, enhance the image and brand of Shriners International within the masonic community, and increase relevancy within the general public.

The Officer is responsible for sustaining and growing the organization's primary revenue stream of eight million dollars, Per Capita, executing a centralized dues renewal campaign to motivate membership renewal (retention) through the collection of over twenty million dollars in revenue on behalf of the federation, and seeking methods to diversify revenue including the monetization of SI as a brand (e.g. eStore).

The Officer will lead the development and growth of Shriners International Education Foundation's strategy as a critical tool to increase leadership capacity, re-establish the brand within Masonry, expand non-dues revenue, and recruit new members, as well as design and drive specific learning, engagement, and revenue outcomes by deploying new learning systems, programs, and events.

The Officer will oversees development and implementation of membership support functions for the headquarters of Shriners International and for temples, associations, clubs and members throughout the world including conducting speeches and presentations on behalf of the organization and serving as the primary staff liaison to four Board Committees. The Officer will serve as a nonprofit, strategy, and governance resource for other departments and the Board, as well as provide counsel and direct resources to projects and initiatives as requested by the Office of the EVP.
