About this role The Fourth Engineer is responsible to act as Senior Watch keeping Officer or Duty Engineer as per schedule, as well as being involved in regular Engine Room maintenance.

What you will contribute Technical Perform all duties and maintenance routines Lifeboat engines, boiler and engine cooling water systems, purifiers, air compressors Carry out all duties and maintenance routines as per Company instructions, with the oversight of the Chief and/or Second Engineer Stock control of the spare parts for Lifeboat engines, boiler and engine cooling water systems, purifiers, air compressors Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) Carry out all lawful orders given by Chief Engineer and Second Engineer Ensure the safe operation of all machinery Ensure the safe and efficient performance of all personnel assigned to his supervision Maintain relevant knowledge of ship’s emergency procedures, including specific knowledge of the working condition of fixed emergency response systems Understand the Company Safety Management System as it applies to the responsibilities of this position Report immediately to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer whenever anything unforeseen happens Mission Support Share in the support and furtherance of Christian community through lifestyle and exhortation For This Role, You Will Need STCW Certifications Certificate of Competency in accordance with STCW III/1 – OIC of an Engineering Watch 3000 kW or greater, with all necessary STCW elements Certificate of Proficiency in accordance with STCW V/2-1 Crowd Management Certificate of Proficiency in accordance with STCW V/2-3 Crisis Management and Human Behavior Mission and Community Supportive of Mercy Ships mission and vision and committed to its core values Understand and apply servant leadership, work collaboratively with integrity, and demonstrate accountability Able to live in and contribute to community life, requiring stable and healthy interpersonal skills Ability to lead in a multi-cultural setting Administrative Competent in Windows, Microsoft Office Programs, and general file/folder management tasks A full, clean driving license is preferred.
