Position Overview

The Grounds/Equipment Operator is responsible for maintaining Endicott College's buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role performs a variety of tasks, including landscaping, snow removal, assisting with event setup and breakdown, handling routine maintenance and minor repairs, and completing work orders. The position contributes to a functional, safe, and welcoming campus environment. Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach are essential to success in this role. Key Responsibilities

Performs grounds maintenance tasks, including planting trees and shrubs, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and collecting leaves to keep the campus looking its best. Clears snow and ice from parking lots, walkways, and other areas to keep pathways safe and accessible. Assists with setup, breakdown, and cleanup for events and functions, ensuring timely and efficient service. General laborer work includes moving and arranging furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed, in accordance with safety guidelines. Completes minor repairs and maintenance projects as assigned or in response to work orders. Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs on equipment to keep it operating properly.

Picks up trash and disposes of waste daily to keep the environment clean and safe. Performs miscellaneous tasks and assignments as directed to support departmental operations. Participates in the on-call rotation policy to address urgent needs and emergencies. Performs other duties as needed to support department and campus goals. Community Engagement Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck gatherings. Show a spirit of collaboration and community involvement, including volunteering when possible.
