Summary
The retail pharmacy technician is an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team and partnering with patients. Responsible for all technical operations, regulatory compliance, medication safety, prescription processing, specialty pharmacy services/programs, and patient experiences within supervising pharmacies and remote dispensing sites. The retail pharmacy technician is a champion for all clinical and operational initiatives, partnering with the pharmacist and key stakeholders to drive strategic growth and development, program integrity, financial viability, and optimal patient outcomes.
Job Description
SCHEDULE: Hours of operation: 24/7 Workdays: days and evenings, no overnight shifts Work Hours: Varied Sun-Sat 7am-9pm, 8–10-hour shifts Weekend/Holiday Rotation: yes, approx. every 3rd weekend KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible for processing prescriptions throughout the lifecycle including but not limited to order entry, third party adjudication, filling, and sale. Performs role and responsibilities maintaining the highest patient experience standards. Responsible for all technical operational functions and inventory management activities.
Responsible for operationalizing regulatory compliance congruent with applicable federal and state regulations, external accrediting authorities, and expert governing bodies. Responsible for all technical aspects of specialty pharmacy services including but not limited compounding, compliance packing, meds to beds, vaccinations, and delivery.
