Older Americans Act Title III

The federal older americans act provides assistance in the development of new or improved programs to help older persons by awarding grants to the states for community planning and services.

Community Care for the Elderly

The community care for the elderly program provides community-based services organized in a continuum of care to help functionally impaired older people live in the least restrictive, yet most cost-effective environment suitable to their needs.

The local services program (LSP) provides funding to expand facility based care alternatives enabling elders to maintain an acceptable quality of life in their own homes and avoid or delay nursing home placement. The LSP provides community-based services to preserve elder independence, support caregivers, and target at-risk persons.
