Chilean-American violist and president and CEO of the Curtis Institute of Music, one of the nation's most prestigious music conservatories. Former principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra (1996–2006), Díaz holds degrees from New England Conservatory of Music and Curtis Institute and has performed with the Boston Symphony, National Symphony, and Minnesota Orchestra.
Under his leadership, Curtis expanded its campus, introduced new programs including classical guitar and conducting, and launched Curtis Summerfest.
