Dr. Michael Roberts serves as the Chief Scientist for the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), which manages the International Space Station (ISS) National Laboratory.
He joined CASIS in 2013, overseeing efforts to enable access to the ISS for research, technology development, STEM education, and commercial innovation in space for the benefit of humanity. Prior to his role at CASIS, Dr.
Roberts worked as a microbial ecologist, principal investigator, and research group lead in the NASA Advanced Life Support program at the Kennedy Space Center, which he joined in 1999.
