Dr. Mark Anthony Brown is the 10th President and CEO of Tuskegee University, assuming the role on July 1, 2024, and is notably the first alumnus to lead the institution in its nearly 143-year history.

A retired U.S. Air Force Major General, he served for 32 years, including as Deputy Commander of Air Education and Training Command.

Prior to his presidency at Tuskegee, Dr. Brown was the chief operating officer of the U.S.

Department of Education Office of Federal Student Aid and most recently served as President and CEO of the Student Freedom Initiative. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Tuskegee University in 1986, and holds multiple master's degrees and a doctorate in Education from Baylor University.
