Howard M. Nathan is a pioneering organ donation and transplant professional with over four decades of leadership in the field.
He began his career in organ donation in 1978 as a transplant coordinator at the Delaware Valley Transplant Program (DVTP), which later became the Gift of Life Donor Program. He served as President and CEO of Gift of Life and has been the longest-serving CEO of any Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) in the United States.
Nathan played a key role in drafting and advocating for Pennsylvania's routine referral organ donation law in 1994, which became a model for national legislation.
