Dr. Jon Steinbrecher is the eighth commissioner of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), appointed on March 16, 2009.
Born February 23, 1961, he earned his bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University in physical education and journalism, a master's degree from Ohio University in sports administration, and a doctorate in physical education and sports administration. During his tenure, he has built the MAC's bowl agreements to six guaranteed games and directed development of the conference's first mental health and diversity/inclusion programs.
