Dr. Charles L.
Branch Jr. is the Eben Alexander Professor and Chair of Neurosurgery and Professor of Pediatrics and Orthopaedic Surgery at Wake Forest University Health Sciences, where he pioneered the minimally invasive posterior interbody lumbar fusion technique that revolutionized spinal fusion procedures worldwide.
With over 36 years of faculty leadership, he trained more than 60 neurosurgical residents and holds 40 patents for commercialized surgical innovations. He announced his retirement in December 2023.
