Bill Hayward is the President of the Board of Hayward Institute Inc., a nonprofit he founded in 2021 to increase awareness of healthy home environments. He also serves as the CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer of Hayward, a century-old California lumber and building materials company, where he pioneered sustainability efforts, making it the first U.S.
lumber company to offer Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified wood products. His dedication to healthy homes was inspired by a personal experience in 2008 when his family fell ill in their residence, leading him to develop the Hayward Score, an online assessment tool.
