Arvind Thiagarajan is an entrepreneur, inventor, and the founder of several technology companies, including HD Medical Group and Matrixview. He is also the founder of the Societal Advancement Initiatives Global Mission (SAIGM) Foundation in Chennai, India.
Through SAIGM, he focuses on providing critical assistance such as food distribution and free medical services to underserved populations in poor and rural areas. By June 2008, the foundation was already providing food to approximately 12,000 people monthly and free medical services to an estimated 8,500 individuals.
His passion for invention and science was significantly influenced by Dr. A.P.J.
Abdul Kalam, who presented him with the "Junior Scientist 2001" award.
