Stavros Niarchos Foundation is a global grantmaking foundation supporting nonprofit organizations in arts and culture, education, health and sports, and social welfare.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation was established in 1996 through a bequest from Stavros S. Niarchos, a Greek shipping entrepreneur and international businessman. Niarchos designated a significant part of his estate to create a lasting philanthropic institution. SNF’s grantmaking reflects his commitment to Greece and Hellenism, as well as support for education, social welfare, health, and arts and culture. Since its founding, SNF has worked with nonprofit partners in Greece and internationally.
