Managing Director – Philanthropy.org & Related Platforms

Remote

$100K + Partnership Track — or $125K Straight Salary

Details

We own and operate a portfolio of high-authority digital properties in the nonprofit space—including:

  • PlannedGiving.com – An established, profitable business with 26 years of history, serving 600+ nonprofit clients nationwide. This is the financial engine behind our growth.

  • Philanthropy.org – A premium domain positioned to become the go-to authority hub in the $557 billion U.S. nonprofit sector. You’ll be building this from the ground up.

  • MajorGifts.com – A newer platform with minimal revenue (for now), but growing visibility as a trusted source for fundraising training and online courses.

We also publish Giving Today and Tomorrow magazine, but this is in its infnacy at this stage.  You can use it as a tool to leverage your voice, build authority, and support Philanthropy.org’s reach.

This is not a job for someone looking for routine. It’s a business-building opportunity for someone who thrives on ownership, strategy, and autonomy. You’ll be working side-by-side with the founder to expand a platform with enormous potential.

Two Compensation Tracks

  • Track 1: $100,000/year + Partnership Track

Includes performance-based profit sharing, equity participation, and long-term brand-building opportunities.

  • Track 2: $125,000/year Straight Salary

For candidates who prefer a traditional structure with no equity or profit participation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the growth strategy for Philanthropy.org as an authority platform

  • Curate and manage thought leadership from experts across the nonprofit and philanthropic space

  • Build relationships with key institutions: AFP, CGP, CASE, AHP, Blackbaud, PNC, SSGA, and more

  • Develop monetization opportunities (sponsorships, job board, resource hubs, digital tools)

  • Manage and quietly oversee additional aligned digital properties

  • Use AI and automation tools to scale content, marketing, and outreach

  • Collaborate with leadership to launch new verticals aligned with shifting trends in philanthropy and funding

Who You Are

  • You have deep nonprofit sector knowledge (AFP, CGP, CASE, or experience working with nonprofit clients)

  • You’re entrepreneurial and strategic—you think in systems, partnerships, and growth levers

  • You have strong editorial and content instincts

  • You’re digitally fluent, comfortable using or learning AI and automation tools

  • You prefer freedom and responsibility over micromanagement

  • You’re excited by long-term upside, not short-term comfort

Expectations

  • This role requires extra hours when needed—because we’re building, not babysitting

  • You’ll have a high degree of autonomy—but accountability comes with it

  • You’ll be working directly with the founder in a fast-moving environment

  • You will have room to shape this platform, not just execute someone else’s plan

What “Partnership Track” Means

This is not a vague “maybe someday” promise.

If you’re the right fit, we’ll talk openly about equity, profit sharing, and growing your personal brand under the Philanthropy.org umbrella. You’ll be positioned as a recognized leader in this space, with real upside and long-term value.

You Should Not Apply If:

  • You’re unfamiliar with the nonprofit or philanthropy space

  • You’re looking for a 9-to-5 role with predictable routines

  • You’re focused on perks and PTO over growth

  • You prefer managing teams over doing the work

Final Note

We are not just building a website—we are creating a category-defining platform in the nonprofit sector.

This is an opportunity to plant your flag early, lead something meaningful, and build a name in one of the most trusted spaces on the web: Philanthropy.org.
